From 1 July 2026, Singapore officially increased the statutory retirement age from 63 to 64 and the re-employment age from 68 to 69.
The changes reflect Singapore’s long-term strategy of supporting an ageing workforce while encouraging experienced professionals to remain economically active. Employers are encouraged to review employment contracts, HR policies and workforce planning to align with the updated regulations.
These measures also provide businesses with greater flexibility in retaining experienced employees while supporting sustainable workforce development.
